Natural beauty stems from a state of mind that determines how you look and feel. Regular skin-care, from lockdown 1.0 to 3.0, has provided me with a respite from the monotony. A nourishing cleanser, face mask and moisturiser are enough to brighten my mood and diminish any visible signs of dullness. No matter your lifestyle, cherish the skin you are in with natural skin-care. As much as I adore designer shoes and handbags, neither helped me through lockdown, but a daily cocktail of skin-care goodness made me glow. Subsequently, family and friends began to comment on how good my skin looked in recent social media photos.
L’Occitane skin-care is the latest addition to my skin-care fridge. However, I may require a walk-in wardrobe soon to accommodate my expanding skin-care collection. A true skin-care enthusiast prides themselves on natural ingredients. Albeit, too much of the latter could never be enough, and L’Occitane is a moreish brand. Why? Because their products pose a traditional design and smell darn good. Master soap makers from Provence make the hand and body liquid soap. Enriched with Shea, the Liquid Soap leaves my skin pleasantly soft. Natural skin-care products help to combat dehydrated skin to which I am prone. L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil offers dual benefits – it cleanses and moisturises. Is this a game-changer for dry skin? Lather and massage into the skin to see the results. My intention is not to spoil the surprise, of course.
I love a good facial mask when having a bath for those of you who know me well. The Invigorating Face and Eye Mask by L’Occitane smells divine. It would make a wonderful Mother’s Day self-pampering gift while offering a fanciful trip to Provence for some freshly-picked melon. I applied a generous layer on my face and eye area for five minutes before removing it with lukewarm water. Furthermore, I used my So Eco Bamboo Facial Cleansing Kit to remove the excess product. The benefit of having a skin-care fridge is that it keeps skin-care products refreshingly chilled and, as a result, they rejuvenate your skin. According to some dermatologists, ‘refrigerating certain ingredients – may slightly extend their shelf life.’ As recommended for a frosted effect, place the invigorating mask in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Before going to bed, I use L’Occitane’s award-winning Immortelle Precious Cream and Serum. There is something quite alluring about blue packaging. Both products contain essential oil from Corsica. The cream is velvety and looks as luxurious as its lapis-blue glass container. However, I would suggest using a small amount owing to the richness of the cream. The latter is suitable for all skin-care types but is the ultimate winner amongst those with dry skin. I adore the fresh countryside scent of the Immortelle range; hence why I drifted into a pleasant sleep, or, perhaps, L’Occitane’s Relaxing Pillow Mist was the cause of that. The mist, made from essential oils, helps to create a calming atmosphere conducive to well-being. As advised, spray the pillow mist in your bedroom and on your pillows 15 minutes before going to bed.
L’Occitane’s Ultra Rich Comforting Cream is long-lasting and specially developed to meet the essential needs of dry to dehydrated skin. Additionally, their Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel provides daily hydration and is perfect as a skin pick-me-up. L’Occitane is a brand that oozes quality, tradition, and the charm of Provence. Make your mother swoon with delight on the 24th of March – Mother’s Day.
