As we head out of lockdown, I have mixed emotions of excitement, anxiety and fear of the unknown perhaps, but ultimately, I remain hopeful for a brighter future. The consensus is that everyone is yearning for normality after such a mighty fall. Some of us will bounce back fighting, while others may endure a much slower recovery. Either way, we have all felt the impact of such a protracted struggle, but we have also developed new disciplines. Regular skincare and exercise are the best ingredients for healthy skin, and now constitute much of my daily routine compared to frequent spouts of laziness before the pandemic. Fortunately, I had received some fabulous skincare and wellbeing products during the lockdown, which changed my attitude towards self-care and life in general.

Kale Facial Wash

My skin has a different glow. I am not sure if this is due to more sleep or a slower pace of life. All I know is that a candid introduction between Nourish London and my skin has led to a blossoming relationship. There are no hidden secrets, only organic ingredients that work their magic on my skin. Every morning, I use Nourish London’s Kale 3D facial wash, which changes to green ever so slightly. Does the latter make me look like the Incredible Hulk? No. Do I feel incredible? Yes. Kale detoxifies and protects against pollution, albeit not very tasty in its edible form.

A thorough skincare routine includes the application of a good serum. Nourish London has a serum for dry skin – Replenishing Peptide, which contains vitamin C and Sicilian lemon – and another serum for sensitive skin – Relax Hydrating Peptide. I have incorporated both products into my morning routine for optimal results. The Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser has a light consistency that dry skin rapidly absorbs, unlike a rich moisturiser. Alternatively, I recommend adding a few drops of facial oil to a lightweight moisturiser for deeper hydration. A bi-weekly mask also promotes healthier-looking skin. Nourish London’s Probiotic Multi-Mineral Mask is nutrient-rich and repairs skin within five minutes when in need of a beauty quick-fix. Made in the UK, all products are vegan-friendly.

Holistic Silk offers a new style of exfoliation for an additional collagen boost in the form of Pure Silk Beauty Cocoons. I appreciate this ecological concept in that you can use each cocoon 2–3 times. Additionally, they include various benefits, such as nourished and smoother skin. You are what you eat, as well as the skin care products you use.
